Ladies of Harley®:

Ladies of Harley® (LOH®) is the group of female Harley-Davidson® enthusiasts promoting activities and adventures from within a local H.O.G.® Chapter. All Ladies who are members of the Ring of Fire Chapter are, by virtue of that membership, members of LOH®. Whether you ride solo or as a passenger,  the LOH® helps promote ladies’ participation in the world of Harley-Davidson®. The active members of LOH® are a group of women who enjoy organizing and participating in social, travel and charitable events resulting in everlasting friendships, where laughter is heard and memories are made. LOH® has something to offer everyone.

Want to be a National LOH® member? You must be an active female with full or full life, associate or associate life membership in H.O.G.® Membership to LOH® is free of charge; however, it is not automatic. It states on your membership card if you are a member of LOH® right beneath your H.O.G.® number. If you are not, please contact the H.O.G. office 1-800-CLUBHOG (1-800-258-2464) or visit the MEMBERS ONLY part of members.hog.com to update your membership profile to include LOH®.

H.O.G.® Mileage Program:

The H.O.G.® Mileage Program rewards you for doing what we all love to do most… ride. The more miles you log on your Harley-Davidson®, the more recognition you receive. Pins, patches, motorcycle medallions – all awarded to you because you ride. Visit members.hog.com to sign up.

The Ring of Fire H.O.G.® Chapter also has mileage awards for the members that turn in the most miles. make sure you sign up with the chapter as well by sending your mileage to our Mileage Officer at mileage@ringoffirehog.com.

Chapter Meetings:

Our meetings are held at Boswell’s Ring of Fire Harley-Davidson® dealership located at 2200 Gallatin Pike N. Madison, TN 37115. When we are not at the dealership, we find other places and times to meet and swap stories. Please check our calendar for locations and times.

Events:

Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G.® chapter members and are divided into three categories of activities.

  • Open events are those chapter events which are open to everyone. All events are open unless otherwise noted.
  • Closed events are those chapter events which are open to chapter members and one guest per member.
  • Member events are events that are open only to Ring of Fire H.O.G.® members.

Anyone who is not a Ring of Fire H.O.G.® Chapter member must sign a waiver before participating in chapter rides.

50/50 Rule:
Generally, rides are cancelled if the high temperature for the day is less than 50 degrees or the chance of rain 50% or higher. Since it is possible for several sources to provide differing information, we use the Weather Channel as the source for this determination. You may visit them at www.weather.com.

Dinner Rides:

Our dinner rides usually are usually held every other Tuesday night, rain or shine, between April and October. We meet at the Ring of Fire Harley-Davidson® and ride from there at 6:30 p.m. to different restaurants. If you are new to the group or have never attended a dinner ride these are highly recommended events. The size of the group changes from week to week but, we always have fun. Please check the calendar on our events page for locations and times.

Group Ride Rules / Observances:

Group motorcycle riding is a great experience when common sense, respect for other riders, and safety prevail. Please review these riding rules and tips for your personal and group riding safety.

  • Do not mix alcohol and motorcycle riding at any time, especially when riding in a group.
  • No attitudes while with the group. A diversity of people ride and motorcyclists are very diverse. We just share the love of riding.
  • Top-off your gas tank before you begin a ride. Bikes with small gas tanks have to stop more often. Decide before you begin, when and where you will stop.
  • Do a personal and bike safety check before beginning a ride. Bikes should always be in good running condition before riding.
  • Riders should wear eye protection, and a DOT/Snell certified helmet. This is law in many states.

Common Hand Signals

Group Riding:

Riders who choose to ride in a group must do just that, ride with the group. If a navigational mistake is made (e.g., missed turn or exit), continue with the group until the error can be safely corrected. It is recommended to have Road Captain(s) travel the route prior to a run, thus, avoiding navigation mistakes.

As in the military, formation is mandatory. A staggered formation is the typical ride arrangement. Maintain approximately one second between the bike to your left or right and two seconds between you and the bike directly in front of you. If a vehicle wants to break through the group on a multi-lane road, give them space to safely do so. Close formation once the vehicle exits the lane. If the vehicle does not move, cautiously and carefully pass to reform. Bikers do not own the road so be considerate of other vehicles. Give them space.

Novice and inexperienced riders should ride in the middle of the group until they are comfortable riding in a group. Experienced riders should also be the rear of the group to maintain order.

Know the hand signals and pay attention to them. Signals are passed back by every rider so that everyone is informed. Maintain a steady pace with as few (dramatic) speed changes or sudden moves as possible. Changing lanes on a freeway should be done from the rear then moving forward to the clear lane.
